"“Better Parenting” – A Parenting Program for City of Yarra Residents"

The “Better Parenting” program offers parents and carers of babies to children aged 12 years an opportunity to develop the skills and knowledge required to enhance their roles within the family in order to provide for better parenting outcomes.

VENUE: Collingwood Seniors Citizens Centre, Eddy Court (behind Collingwood Town Hall), Abbotsford. Free parking at Collingwood Train Station car park.

COST: free - bookings are essential, so book early.

"2006 Radiothon"

AGWS held its 5th Annual “Radiothon” on Sunday, 13th August 2006 in conjunction with 3XY Radio Hellas. The Australian-Greek community once again showed its support as over $33,000 was raised on the day. The financial support received from the Radiothon, forms an integral part of AGWS ability to continue its provision of its specialists services to the Australian-Greek community.

Whilst the “Radiothon” itself takes place once a year donations to the Society can be made throughout the year. If you would like to make a donation, please download a donation form and FAX it back to us on (03) 9388 9992.

"Living With Cancer Education Program"

The Australian Greek Welfare Society in conjunction with the Cancer Council, Austin Health and Caritas Christi Hospice is organising free Cancer Information Sessions for people who speak GREEK. The sessions will be held on the 8th and 15th of September 2006 at the Austin Hospital, Education Centre, Level 4, Studley Road, Heidelberg bfrom 10.00 am – 1.00 pm.

If you are you interested in gaining information and support about cancer, you are invited to attend. The sessions and all relatyed discussions will be conducted in the Greek language.

The Greek Living With Cancer Education Program is facilitated by trained Cancer Specialists. Your family and friends are encouraged to attend with you. The program is free and lunch and refreshments are provided.

"Addressing the Needs of Fathers Today"

AGWS is organising two Forums for YOU to have YOUR SAY about the NEEDS that FATHERS of TODAY face. The forums will be held on the 1st and 4th of September in Oakleigh and Brunswick respectively.The Forums are suitable for fatehers with pre-school and all school-aged children.
