The AGWS Social Support Program continues to provide companionship and support to frail, isolated and disabled Greek speakers residing across the Melbourne metropolitan area. In the last financial year, the friendly visiting service provided in excess of 6,000 hours of voluntary support to approximately 100 individuals. Since its inception the program has been pivotal in providing an entry point into the broader aged and disability services system and in maintaining independent living within the community.

An independent audit of the program’s activities in late 2007 awarded the organization an overall score of 20/20 for compliance with the HACC National Service Standards and highlighted the exceptionally high standard in quality service delivery as executed by the program administrators and volunteer visitors.
