Through the “National Falls Prevention for Older People Initiative”, AGWS was provided with a unique opportunity to work collaboratively with other Greek community organisations across Australia and promote the benefits of implementing falls prevention strategies in people’s homes and in places where they meet.  AGWS used its vast experience in working with the Greek community to develop effective methods and strategies for raising awareness.

Through the project, AGWS was able to actively engage with members of the Australian-Greek community in all the capital cities of Australia and gain a valuable insight into their specific needs.  In total, there were 2,135 members of the Greek community that were actively engaged during the delivery of this project.  Furthermore, the “Health Demographics Report for Older Greek Speaking People” produced by AGWS through the project, provided an additional insight into the varying health needs of the Greek-Australian community across Australia.
